Job Description The Position This is an academic year tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Health Sciences beginning August 2021. Candidates are sought with a doctorate in public health and a focus on health administration, or in health administration with an MPH or other CEPH-accredited master’s degree, or in business or public administration and a focus on health administration and an MPH or other CEPH-accredited master’s degree. Responsibilities Excellence in teaching, scholarly publications, service to the university and community, student advisement and recruitment, curriculum development, and other responsibilities consistent with the mission of the University and the requirements of the Department and College are expected. Teaching duties may consist of day, evening, weekend, and/or online classes in both the current undergraduate and planned graduate programs. Teaching areas include but are not limited to healthcare finance; health services, operations, and strategic management; quantitative and qualitative analysis and problem-solving; health information systems and analytics; health management sciences; GIS; organizational theory and behavior; design and innovation; leadership; and health law and ethics. Job Requirements Qualifications Required Qualifications Applicants must have experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. Earned doctorate in public health with a focus on health administration, or in health administration with an MPH or other CEPH-accredited master’s degree, or in business or public administration with a focus in health administration and an MPH or other CEPH-accredited master’s degree; current or recent experience in the healthcare industry and working with diverse populations; scholarly publications commensurate with experience; curriculum development experience; and evidence of a strong commitment to student success. If doctorate is in progress, it must be completed before the start date of employment. Preferred Qualifications Excellent teaching track-record; Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives; scholarly publications; grant writing experience; involvement in discipline related issues at local, national or international levels; established relationships with community-based organizations and health agencies; mentorship of students engaged in research; program development experience; experience with students learning outcomes assessment; and program accreditation experience.
