Acadia University invites applications for the position of Director of the School of Nutrition and Dietetics (SND), within the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences (FPAS) at the level of Associate or Full Professor.
This position requires a visionary and dynamic leader to guide and foster a collaborative and collegial work environment with SND faculty, staff, and students. This leader will build and maintain strong relationships within the SND, across FPAS, the university, and with external partners. To support this leadership role, preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the ability to communicate in multiple ways to diverse audiences.
Guided by the Purpose of the SND and the University Strategic and Research Plans, the Director is expected to make sound and effective management decisions under highly dynamic conditions. This includes building teams, applying fairness in decision making, managing and prioritizing unexpected roles and tasks, and fostering shared leadership in a workplace that is governed by academic, professional and union guidelines.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate scholarly leadership. Building on existing faculty and student strengths, Acadia prioritizes candidates who will support and accelerate achievements in research and curriculum, build on program strengths, and work to strengthen the role of SND within the FPAS and the University to ensure excellence in undergraduate education. The Director will be expected to contribute to this learning environment through research and teaching.

This includes, but is not limited to, supporting different approaches to research, supporting the value of multiple ways of knowing, working with faculty to identify and obtain research funding, and supporting undergraduate student involvement in research.
