Job Description

 

The Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Informatics (BNHI) department within The University of Washington (UW) School of Nursing - Seattle invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track nursing faculty position at the level of Associate Professor. Tenure track faculty in BNHI have an annual service period of nine months (September 16-June 15). The anticipated start date is September 16, 2024. The base salary range for this position will be be $12,000 - $13,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct research in biobehavioral adult health, psychiatric and mental health.
  • Maintain a program of research consistent with the research areas of the School (symptom science, health equity, lifespan health, and innovative methods)
  • Continue research productivity in a focused area of systematic inquiry as recognized by colleagues within and beyond the institution and region
  • Mentoring facilitating student learning effectively through teaching activities.
  • Contribute to advance professional and service activities
  • Have a continuing commitment to working with diverse, underserved, and/or marginalized populations
  • Work collaboratively across disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds and to develop and sustain a funded research program.
  • Engage in research, teaching, and mentoring a diverse student body across all levels of the nursing curriculum (BSN, ABSN, MS, DNP, and PhD).

The School’s Office for Nursing Research provides an in-depth research infrastructure as well as prospects for interdisciplinary/interprofessional research and educational initiatives. The School and Department foster mutually enriching community/academic partnerships within and beyond the UW campuses.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) or D.N.S. (Doctorate of Nursing Science) in nursing science or a related field".
  • Licensure or eligibility for RN licensure in Washington State is required.
