Job Description   Director of Small Animal Veterinary Care Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Veterinary Medicine Location: Ewing, Virginia Position Summary: The Director of Small Animal Clinical Care will oversee all aspects of medical care for animals used in veterinary and veterinary medical technology education at the DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center (DVTC), with a primary focus on dogs and cats. This role includes supervising staff and students in the provision of patient care, managing the use of animals for instructional purposes, and ensuring ethical and regulatory compliance in all clinical operations. The Director works closely with DVTC personnel to uphold the highest standards of animal welfare, education, and clinical practice. This leadership position is essential in supporting Lincoln Memorial University’s commitment to excellence in veterinary education and responsible animal care. Primary Responsibilities: Provide and supervise clinical care for small animals (primarily dogs and cats) at the DVTC Oversee student and staff involvement in patient care activities Manage the use and welfare of animals involved in teaching programs Ensure compliance with university, state, and federal regulations, including IACUC and USDA standards Collaborate with faculty and administration to support curricular needs About Lincoln Memorial University: LMU’s DeBusk College of Veterinary Medicine is committed to preparing future veterinarians through hands-on learning and community-focused care.
