Michigan State University (MSU) is a large, public research university located in East Lansing, Michigan three miles east of Michigan’s capitol in Lansing. Students number 50,543 (39,143 undergraduates), and come from all 50 states and over 138 countries. There are approximately 5,300 faculty and academic staff. The 17 degree-granting colleges at MSU include three residential undergraduate colleges. Part of the active cultural community of mid-Michigan, performing, sports and artistic venues on MSU’s beautiful 5,000 acre campus include the Broad Art Museum, the Wharton Center for Performing Arts, the Breslin Student Events Center, Abrams Planetarium, and over seven acres of horticulture gardens.
