UQTR is a francophone medium-size university located in Trois-Rivières (Québec, Canada). It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in multiple disciplines, notably in the Humanities, Social Science, Management, Education, Health and STEM. Founded in 1969 and part of the Université du Québec network  ꟷ composed of 10 public universities across the province ꟷ UQTR welcomes approximately 15 000 students in its 340 programs. The university hosts multiple productive interdisciplinary research units. External research funding has increased from 29,4 M$ to 36,8 M$ over the 2017-2021 period.

Founded in 1994, the Hydrogen Research Institute is dedicated to research on hydrogen energy and technologies related to the energy transition. As one of UQTR’s leading research units, its mandate is to study and develop technologies for the production, storage and safe use of hydrogen as energy vector, storage medium and chemical feedstock. The members of the institute are also interested in all aspects of the scientific and technological issues relevant to the ecological transition.
