Organization ProfileThe Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences is composed of nine clinical subspecialties: Anesthesiology, Dentistry & Oral Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Equine Surgery & Lameness, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Oncology & Radiation Oncology, Ophthalmology, Small Animal Emergency & Critical Care, and Small Animal Surgery. Individuals joining the department will be able to draw on the rich and diverse environment within the UC community, which includes the School of Veterinary Medicine, School of Medicine, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and more. The University of California is one of the largest and most renowned centers of higher education in the world. The faculties of the University are internationally known for their distinguished academic achievements. Davis is one of the nation’s top public universities in research funding. The campus lies adjacent to the city of Davis, 14 miles west of Sacramento, 72 miles northeast of San Francisco and 110 miles southeast of Lake Tahoe and the Sierras. The city of Davis has a population of 64,000 and is situated in a beautiful pastoral setting. The University’s student population is approximately 32,000.
