The Department of Computer Science (http://cs.uncc.edu) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) seeks candidates for a tenure-track position at any rank. The Department seeks the best candidates in all areas of Computer Science. It is particularly interested in candidates with foundational, use-inspired, or transdisciplinary research interests in:
- Foundations of Computing, including quantum computing, combinatorial and continuous optimization, and applications to machine learning.
- Artificial intelligence, including explainable AI, human-AI collaboration, machine learning, robotics, and computer vision.

Current research and teaching strengths of 40+ faculty include visualization; data analytics; AI and machine learning; natural language processing; computer vision; robotics; cyber-physical systems; networks; edge, cloud, and high-performance computing; software engineering; and CS education.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline, and possess a record that demonstrates excellence (or the strong potential for excellence) in research and teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels; experience or potential for external funding; a commitment to integrity and ethics, respect, diversity and pluralism; and can enhance research and training opportunities in CS.
