Job Description

 

The University of Arkansas, the state’s flagship campus, seeks a dynamic leader to head the Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering.

The successful applicant will hold the Kevin W. and Marie L. Brown Chair in Chemical Engineering.  With a $23 million endowment, the Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering houses 5 endowed chairs and 8 endowed professorships to support its faculty, and fosters expertise in membrane separations, materials, biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, and environmental engineering. 

The department is home to an NSF IUCRC-funded MAST Membrane Center and the Chemical Hazards Research Center. 

The department has 14 tenured/tenure-track faculty, including two AIChE fellows, 1 professor of practice, 2 teaching assistant professors, and 1 instructor and occupies over 21,000 square feet of laboratory space for research and teaching.

Job Requirements

Successful candidates must hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field meet the academic achievements commensurate with appointment as a full professor with tenure. The successful candidate will have a distinguished record as an educator and researcher, as well as demonstrated abilities in academic program development and leadership, excellent communications skills.
