The Center for Career Excellence at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a Senior Associate Director for Employer Engagement position. The Senior Associate Director reports to the Director and works with Career Excellence colleagues and key University partners to establish an Employer Engagement & Recruitment Program to significantly increase the number of employers with quality job, internship, and experiential opportunities seeking St. Lawrence student candidates. The Senior Associate Director is responsible for overall management of the Employer Engagement & Recruitment Programs; designs and implements employer outreach campaigns and proactive engagement strategies to attract a variety of employers; creates and stewards long-term employer partnerships; grows operations and programs to assist employers in hiring diverse students from a range of backgrounds, majors, and interests. The Senior Associate Director strategically engages employers with opportunities supportive of the identities, experiences, and goals of our students; facilitates recruitment efforts through virtual and on-campus methods; and hosts employers visiting campus. The Senior Associate Director supervises the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement, coordinates the Vilas Scholar Program, and teaches in the Career Classes as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Self-starter with ability to create innovative, successful employer engagement strategies and recruitment programming for students.
• Knowledge and understanding of best practices in career development, employer hiring, and workplace trends.
• Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism and provide exceptional customer service.
• Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining productive relationships with a wide range of external and internal constituents including employers, alumni, parents, students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, collaboration/team, organizational, program development, time management, interpersonal, and presentation skills (in-person and virtual, small and large groups).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary for communicating with small and large audiences (one-on-one, student classrooms, campus leaders, faculty groups, professional associations, external constituents).
• Knowledge of experiential learning/internships, job search strategies, interviewing, resume and cover letter writing, and networking best practices.
• Ability to infuse skill/competency development into programs and services to increase students’ career readiness.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Zoom.
• Ability to travel and work non-standards hours, including nights and weekends, is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in higher education administration, business, or related field with 6 years of progressively responsible experience, at least 4 of which have been in an employer relations/employer development role in collegiate career services or a profit/non-profit recruiting, HR, or related setting.

• Experience working with students and employers from diverse backgrounds strongly preferred.
• Experience with Handshake career management platform strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Qualtrics and/or other survey tools preferred.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Vault, VMock, LinkedIn/LinkedIn Learning a plus.
