We seek an outstanding and enthusiastic teacher and colleague with demonstrated excellence in teaching, service, and scholarly or creative work. While this is an open field competition, we especially welcome applicants with experience and interest in teaching in two or more of the following areas: Film, Media Studies, Communications Studies, Theatre, Journalism, Musicology, Creative Writing, English, and Fine Arts. The successful candidate will carry a teaching load of six courses and contribute to Corpus Christi College’s programming for the Associate of Arts degree, as well as the development of a new Bachelor of Arts degree.
There may also be opportunities to teach courses for St. Mark’s College’s Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Culture program.
Beyond teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to perform service and administrative responsibilities in support of the College and maintain an active research profile that is appropriate to the high levels of teaching and service that are required at the College. As Chair, the candidate will be expected to make a commitment to public engagement that may include public presentations for general audiences on topics related to current issues in communication and media.
The candidate may be called upon to help develop and coordinate a Certificate in the Creative Arts that the College hopes to offer in the future.
Candidates should have a doctoral degree or be close to completion at the time of appointment. We will also consider candidates with a Master’s degree and extensive professional experience in their field.
